Mergers & Acquisitions, M&A Rudi Bester

A short 2012 research paper is an easy-to-read research study and overview of M&A as a corporate strategy.

Business leaders often ponder why mergers and acquisitions are so popular as a corporate growth strategy. And why the published failure rates of M&A are so high. And perhaps whether the primary purpose of embarking on a M&A strategy is focused on delivering investor/shareholder return on investment, i.e. wealth creation.

"M&A" strives to specifically explore the logic and reason behind questions business leaders often ponder when pursuing a corporate growth strategy via M&A.

A Real Life Story About Homelessness, Survival, and Self-Sufficiency (2021)

"When I was young, I was very poor. After a lifetime of hard work and commitment, I am no longer young."

This line above, probably more than any other from the book, summarizes Rudi's life best. With no parental guidance, a missing and/or broken family structure, one has to learn survival techniques by oneself. Failure is a good teacher, success less so.

Follow Rudi on a path of being unwittingly born into poverty and homelessness, across different countries, as he learned survival and financial sustainability skills, en route.

Published (2022) as a "how-to" manual for managing unexpected, huge healthcare bills, for our shrinking middle class.

Many of our friends, family, and people who think they are adequately insured, often find themselves to be suddenly under-insured, or even uninsured.

Rudi wrote this book for those of us who might become financially crushed by receiving surprisingly huge medical bills... like the bills I received for nearly $160,000 after a two-week period of unexpected illness, treatments received, and my hospitalization for a few nights.
